Questions families ask
About the cards, the guide, languages and privacy.
Who are the cards for?
Any family with a young person from primary school to just after school. A family can be any shape: parents, carers, grandparents, relatives, or a trusted adult.
Do the cards cost anything?
The online deck and the printable PDFs are free for families, schools and libraries to use. Printed packs and sessions for schools and libraries are quoted on enquiry.
Do I need to know about careers to use them?
No. The cards are about listening and asking good questions. When you need facts, the guide lists reliable places to look, such as Your Career.
Will the cards tell my child what job to do?
No. They help young people think and talk about what matters to them. Decisions belong to the young person, with support from their family and school.
Is anything I do on the site saved or sent?
No. Drawing and shuffling cards happens in your browser. Nothing is saved or sent unless you fill in a form.
Which languages are available?
English now. Translations into community languages used widely in Australian homes are being prepared and will be added to the languages page as they are ready.
Can we use the cards in class or at a library event?
Yes. Print them, or use the online deck on a screen. For printed packs or a parent evening outline, use the form on the schools and libraries page.
What if a card upsets someone?
Anyone can pass, and you can stop at any time. The guide has a short section on what to do when worries come up, including phone numbers for support.
